The incident had occurred when Deeksha who is an MBA student at a college in Karkala as usual was walking towards home after alighting from the bus at the KSHEMA bus stop. Her house is located just behind the hospital.

Sushanth who had come in his scooter  had stabbed her and even threatened others who gathered around by stating he too would kill himself. Even as a large crowd gathered Sushanth had continued stabbing Deeksha.

When a nurse in the hospital tried to pull him away he slit his own throat and fell over Deeksha.

The two were immediately rushed to the hospital.

Sources said Sushanth was a dancer and Deeksha too was learning dance. Both  knew each other since six years. However, Deeksha of late had maintained a distance from Sushanth who had once even come to her college and  harassed her. Following this a complaint was also lodged.

Police Commissioner Sandeep Patil and other senior police officials have visited the spot soon after the incident. Ullal Police are investigating the case.

The video of the incident which someone had captured on their mobile phone is presently viral on social media.
