Mangaluru, Sep 20,2017 : In a welcome move, the state government has revised Dasara holiday schedule for schools and colleges excluding degree colleges. This time, Dasara holidays will begin on September 21 and end on October 5.
The fresh circular was issued on September 19, Tuesday for schools in Dakshina Kannada and Kodagu districts. Earlier, Dasara holidays were supposed to begin on October 11 and end on October 25.
DK District in-charge Minister Ramanatha Rai had written to Chief Minister seeking rescheduling of the Dasara holidays as children will in no way enjoy Dasara festivities if the holiday schedule was not changed.
However, there has been no change in the Dasara holiday schedule in Udupi district.

Why was that decision not taken a week back. How come the govt realized that the kids will not enjoy the festival at this stage. Exams are scheduled. Didn’t the Govt know of the Dasara a week back. Why last minute changes. | |
