Mangaluru, Aug 29, 2019: Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama arrived at the Mangaluru International Airport on August 29, Thursday afternoon. He was warmly welcomed at the airport by Mangaluru Assistant Commissioner Ravichandra Naik, DCPs Arunamshu Giri and Lakshmi Ganesh on behalf of the District Administration.
Outside the airport, he was welcomed by local Tibetans by presenting a traditional Tibetan dance.
Security in and around the airport was beefed up ahead of the arrival of the Dalai Lama. He was taken to the hotel where he will be staying amid high security and zero traffic.
The Dalai Lama who will be staying in the city for three days will be participating in the Akhil Bharat Catholic School Association’s national convention to be held at Fr Muller Auditorium on August 30. He will leave for Bengaluru on August 31.
