Mangaluru, Aug 8,2016 : The district unit of the Aam Aadmi Party has taken strong exception to the failure of Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel to attend the meeting over Mahadayi water issue convened by the Chief Minister.
In a press communique, the party said that the BJP MP’s of the state have betrayed the trust of the Kannadigas by not taking up the Mahadayi issue at the Central level. "The people of Karnataka have elected these persons to safeguard the interest of the Kannadigas," it said.
It may be recalled here that some media reports had stated that Nalin had decided to abstain from the meeting as the CM had failed to convene a meet on the Yettinahole Project.
The AAP further said that "It is obvious that the BJP MP does not understand the importance of two different subjects - Mahadaayi and Yettinahole," and alleged that the MP had no concern for the problems being faced by the people of North Karnataka who will be affected by the Tribunal order.
