Puttur, June 2013 : BJP National Vice President and former chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda has expressed the hope that the BJP leadership would be able to persuade senior leader LK Advani to revoke his decision to quit all party posts.
Speaking to media men here, Sadananda Gowda said “Advani is a matured politician. He has been in politics in the best interests of the nation and has never resorted to politics for selfish gains.
There can be no BJP without Advani.”
The party leadership has already clarified that Advani’s resignation will not be accepted, Gowda said adding Advani’s resignation has nothing to do with the selection of Gujarat Chief Minister as the President of the Party’s Election Campaign Committee. He said the appointment of Modi to the post has instilled new vigour and confidence in the BJP and added the party has shouldered the responsibility on Modi to help him extend the development he has initiated in Gujarat throughout the nation.
He also stated that Modi was a leader who is capable of making India a nation free from Congress.
On Gutka ban, Gowda said the health minister is unaware of the repercussions of the same on the areca growers.
