DK farmers staged protest over Cauvery water dispute

Mangaluru, Sep 20, 2016: DK farmers staged protest outside DC office on September 20, Tuesday against Supreme Court verdict over Cauvery water dispute.
Addressing the protestors Lawyer SP Chengappa said that, protest has been staged to showcase the solidarity in DK over water dispute. Water is essential as farmers of entire state are dependent on Agriculture. State is also facing rain deficit up to 55% through which farmers are distressed.
He also said that, we need to stand for the farmers of other districts and show solidarity. Even the unnatural projects like Yettinahole need to be withdrawn which will affect the agricultural land in respected areas.
Prior to the protest, protest rally was carried out from Clock tower to DC office and later memorandum was submitted to DC.
