Mangaluru, Dec 08, 2014: Speaking at the SC/ST monthly grievances meet at his office here on December 7, Sunday, he requested the public to inform authorities about suspicious schemes they come across. SP Dr Sharanappa has warned public to be cautious about money making schemes.
In the meeting, a Dalit leader expressed concern that incidents of cheating people through gift schemes or finance schemes where customers pay money in installments have increased in the district. Many Dalits have also lost money and ornaments in such fake schemes, he added.
The SP said that recently, a person published an advertisement in a newspaper that he would give Rs 50,000 to Rs 75,000 rent for those who rent land to build mobile towers and also offered job for a single person of each family. During enquiry, it was found that the company which advertised was part of a cheating chain and it is also present in Delhi and Gurgaon. Public should be careful about such cheats, he said.
The conflict between a weekly and Dalit organisations s going on from several months in Belthangady was raised by Dalit leaders and they were unhappy as issue is still on going without a solution. Difference of opinion surfaced among Dalits leaders. The SP intervened to stop the unpleasantness and suggested to solve problems within the community in a proper way. He promised to discuss the issue with the D C, Social Welfare Officer and other officials concerned.
Dalit leader M A Naika demanded police officials to provide all information about the issues in last meeting. Additional SP M Shekarappa was also present and the meeting was active with many issues.
