Mangalore, June 4, 2013: Deputy Commissioner N Prakash has directed the authorities of the Control Room set up in the Mangalore City Corporation office to submit a report on a daily basis to the MCC commissioner on the action taken with regard to the complaints lodged at the Control Room set up to redress monsoon related problems of the people.
The Deputy Commissioner who is also the administrative officer of the Mangalore City Corporation paid a surprise visit to the Control Room on June 3, Monday and instructed the officials concerned to ensure better co-ordination in order to render good services to the people.
The DC said the responsibility of the Control Room does not end just by passing off the complaints lodged with it to the authorities concerned. He warned of action against errant officials in case he receives any direct complaints from public.
Expressing his displeasure over the irregular garbage disposal system in the city, he also warned that he would pay a site visit in order to ensure regular disposal of garbage.
The DC even instructed officials to settle the bills of those contractors who have completed works on time.
