Mulki, June 13, 2014: The DC A B Ibrahim paid a surprise visit to Nadakacheri in Mulki on June 11, was shocked to find the important government documents piled up haphazardly in the office. He took officials to task for the lack of maintenance and confusion in the office.

A B Ibrahim 1He directed the officials to shift the office to some other building as the building in which it is functioning at present is congested. The Nadakacheri serves as many as 30 surrounding villages.

He directed to clear the notice board which still displayed notices as old as four years or more. Later DC told the press, that he has visited the Nadakacheri in response to the complaints of citizens that the office was not functioning properly. An action plan of Rs 44 lakh will be prepared under CSR scheme for the construction of a new building near Karnad and the office will be shifted to the new building. If there is availability of land in Mulki and Surathkal, priority will be given to start fire service station there.

Though the special tahsildar in Mulki has the power to inspect documents in Mulki, the process takes place in Mangalore due to space constraints in Nadakacheri. A meeting of the elected representatives and officials will be convened in Mulki and attempts will be made to resolve the troubling matters.
