Customs officials seize Rs 1.09 cr worth gold from duo at MIA

Mangaluru, Jan 15, 2021: Customs officials at the Mangaluru International Airport have arrested two passengers who arrived from Sharjah for possessing 2.15 kg gold valued at Rs 1.09 crores on January 14, Thursday.
Those arrested are Faizal Thotti (37) and Mohammad Shohaib (31) from Kasargod. Both had arrived at MIA by an Air India Express flight from Sharjah. The officials who grew suspicious on inspection found 2.154 kg gold of 24 carat purity hidden in the under garments of the two accused.
