Cultural programmes planned for Ganeshotsava

Mangaluru, Sep 11, 2018: Sri Siddhivinayaka Prathishtana Sarvajanika Sri Ganeshotsava Samithi Omkaranagara will organise 15th Ganeshotsava, from September 13 to 15 at Omkaranagara, in Bunts Hostel.

Ganeshotsava.jpgBriefing media on Sept 10, Monday, Prathishtana Managing Trustee Maladi Ajith Kumar Rai Kodialguthu said that the Ganesha idol will be brought to Omkaranagara in Bunts Hostel from Sri Radhakrishna Temple, at 5 pm on September 12.

On September 13, after the prayers, Brigadier Vinod Adapa and Sonia V Adapa will hoist the flag. The idol will be installed and thene habba will be observed. The “thene” will be distributed among the devotees on the occasion.

A dance competition will be organised for Bunt youths in the afternoon. A religious meeting will be held at 5 pm, where progressive farmer Anand Alva Mijaruguthu, Kidiyooru Hotels Pvt Ltd president Bhuvanendra Kidiyooru, Lions District 317 governor Devadas Bhandary, Rotary district 3182 governor Abinandan A Shetty, Seon Ashram Trust head Paulose Seon, entrepreneur Sunanda Daya Shetty and international athlete Abhishek N Shetty will be felicitated.

A Yakshagana-Natya Vaibhava by Yakshagana Bhagavatha Patla Sathish Shetty and team will be staged.

On September 14, Bhajan dance competitions will be held at 10 am. During the state programme at 5 pm, Major General (retd) M V Bhat, Sri Mookambika Temple, Kolur managing trustee Harish Shetty, Rotary District 3181 president Rohinath Pade, Vasanthi Shetty of Durga Home Industries, Hunsemakki, Karnataka Malla editor Chandrashekar Palethadi, Haridasa Sharath Shetty and international athlete Abhinaya S Shetty will be felicitated.

Devotional songs by Puttur Narasimha Nayak and Raichur Sheshagiri Das will be held at 8 pm.

The grand procession of Ganesha idol for immersion will be taken out on September 15. The procession will pass through Bunts Hostel Circle-PVS-Dongarkery-Carstreet-Sri Venkatramana Temple- Sri Mahamayi Temple Lake.

Ajith Kumar Rai Kodialguthu said that the committee has decided to observe the celebrations in a simple manner at a time when Kodagu and Kerala are reeling under floods and landslides. The expenses have been cut by 60% to help the flood victims of Kerala and Kodagu.


Jappinamogaru plans

Jappinamogaru Sarvajanika Ganeshotsava Samithi will organise Ganeshotsava at Jappinamogaru from September 12 to 14.

Briefing reporters, Samithi President Nagendra Kumar said that the Ganesha idol will be brought to the mantapa at 5 pm on September 12. The idol will be installed under the guidance of Brahamsri Vittaladas Tantri on September 13.

A drawing competition to draw representations of Ganesha will be held for the students. A devotional songs concert by Manjunath of Sunada Musicals will be held at 3.30 pm. A variety of cultural programmes will be held at 6.30 pm. On September 14 — “108 Narikela Mahaganayaga” will be held at 8.30 am. Bhajans will be sung by members of various bhajan mandalis. Hulivesha, “Keelu kududre” dance and Chende vadana will be held in the evening.

The procession of Ganesha idol will be taken at 7 pm and will be immersed in River Nethravathi behind Sri Mallikarjuna Temple at Kadekaru.
