Criminals involved in anti-social activities will not be spared: Minister Khader

Mangalore, Jan 4, 2013: Minister for health and family welfare U T Khader said that the city is becoming violent and stressed, hence there is need to take measures to control the situation.


Speaking at the press meet held at circuit house on Jan 4, Saturday, he said that today the criminals are not scared of police, but they happily involve themselves in Anti-social activities, get arrested and come out on bail within no time, hence all these elements must be stopped.

Minister said that most of the post in Police department is vacant and hence strict police officers must be recruited, who will respond to the complaints of every common people. There is necessary to take strict action against the criminals involved in anti-social activities and give no scope for such situation to take place in the coming days.


Khader also said that Security guards in colleges must be trained and equipped with skills of self defence and be strict with the students coming from far places for their education in Mangalore. Habitual offenders will be taken to task.

The shops near the colleges must be brought under scanner so that students will not get into habit of smoking and ganja, he said.


Apart from it, the police department must carry out Night patrolling. All the vehicles that pass through the check post must be checked thoroughly and more number of police officers will be deputed for the duty. Around 300 police personnel’s will be appointed immedietely.


Speaking on the recent moral policing activities took place in Attavar and Deralakatte, Khader said that the arrested accused will not be given bail at any cost. Further CCTV camera will be installed in all the junctions to trace the incidents soon.


City Police Commissioner Hithendra, representatives from various institutions like Father Muller, KMC, Yenepoya, Nitte and P A Engineering were also present at the meeting.
