Mangaluru, Jan 16, 2021: The Covid-19 vaccination drive was launched across six centres in Dakshina Kannada district on January 16, Saturday by DK District in-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary and the newly inducted state minister S Angara. The function was held at the Ayush Department of Wenlock Hospital in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Dr Rajendra K V, MLA Vedavyas Kamath and other officials.
The district has received 24,000 doses of Covid vaccine in the first batch and it will be given to Covid warriors through six centres.
A total of 52,381 beneficiaries have been identified for the purpose in the district. The vaccination centres will operate at the Ayush Department of Wenlock Hospital, City Primary Health Centre, Suratkal and Taluk Hospitals at Bantwal, Beltangady Puttur and Sullia.
A total of 100 beneficiaries will be vaccinated in one centre in one day from 9 am to 5 pm.
