Mangaluru, June 12, 2020: A pregnant woman who had arrived from Mumbai and was tested positive for Covid-19 has delivered a baby through Caesarean at the Wenlock Covid Hospital. Doctors have informed that the mother and child are healthy.
The woman hailing from a village near Mangaluru had arrived from Mumbai on Monday. As she was suffering from weakness she had come to Ladygoschen Hospital for a check-up. On coming to know that she had arrived from Mumbai, she was placed in quarantine in Wenlock. Her throat swab sample was subsequently collected and the report revealed she was Covid-19 positive. She was then shifted to a separate ward and on Thursday she delivered a baby through Caesarean. As the woman had blood pressure problems doctors had to perform a Caesarean.
District Health Officer Dr Ramachandra Bairi said a Covid-19 test will be done on the baby after a few days.
