Mangaluru, June 30, 2020: A migrant worker from Uttarakhand who was working in an under construction building near Hampankatta, and was tested positive for Covid-19 attempted to commit suicide just as measures were taken to shift him to a hospital on June 29, Monday.
It is learnt the worker who had shown Covid-19 symptoms was subject to a throat swab test which had come positive. Following this the officials had arrived to shift him to Wenlock Covid-19 Hospital. However he tried to escape. When officials chased him, he tried to end his life. Finally, the Bunder cops managed to persuade him and shifted him to Wenlock Hospital.
