Couple meet watery grave in Kumaradhara river

Mangaluru, Jun 01,2017: A couple drowned in while crossing Kumardhara River on Wednesday evening at Perabe but their bodies were retrieved on June 01 , Thursday morning.


drownmed 1Parameshwara Gowda(56) and his wife Bhavani(55) resident of Charvaka Kumbladi are identified as the deceased.

Sources say that Parameshwara Gowdaand Bhavani had been to Perabe to attend a wedding. While returning, instead of taking road, couple tried to cross river which was swollen due to heavy rains and were washed away.

The eyewitness who saw them drowning immediately informed the police. With the help of police and expert divers the bodies were recovered from the river.


Kadaba police are investigating the case.
