Corporators express displeasure on MCC commissioner

Mangaluru, April 25, 2015: Congress corporators met CM Siddaramaiah at Mangalore International Airport on April 24, Friday and are said to have expressed grievances against MCC Commissioner Hephsiba Rani Korlapati and demanded her transfer. The corporators have allege that the commissioner was ignoring the corporators.

MCC Commissioner Hephsiba Rani It is said the commissioner had issued a notice to an attender for allowing a corporator to enter the commissioner’s chamber without permission. Based on the notice, the corporators have discussed the issue with the chief minister.

The corporators discussed the issue with the CM at the airport lounge. Mayor Jacintha Vijay Alfred, Deputy Mayor Yashvanth Chitrapura, Standing committee Presidents Harinath, Deepak Poojary, Corporators Shashidhar Hegde, Kavitha, Praveen Chandra Alva, Appi, Kavitha Sanil and others were present.

It may be recalled that former union minister Janardhan Poojary stated recently that an attempt to transfer an official by the corporators is not a good trend.

Reacting to the delegation, Mayor Jacintha Alfred said that they did not discuss regarding the Commissioner, but issues of development of the city. While briefing media CM said there is a small misunderstanding between MCC commissioner and Mayor and it is resolved.
