Mangalore, Feb 2, 2014: A resident of Uppinangady has lodged a complaint against a policeman of Uppinangady police station alleging that the latter had obtained a SIM card by misusing his passport related documents.
Shabeer from Uppinangady lodged a complaint with the IGP Western Range Pratap Reddy on February 1, Saturday after his earlier complaint at Uppinangady police station proved futile.
According to Shabeer, he had applied for a passport at the passport office in Mangalore. The documents were then sent to Uppinangady police station for verification. The cops then demanded three photographs and a copy of ration card and the documents were also testified by two witnesses.
Shabeer said he later came to know that his photograph and his ration card copy were submitted at a mobile shop to get a SIM card by one Lakshmisha of Uppinangady police station.
Shabeer has urged for an impartial probe into the case. It has been learnt that the IGP has assured to look into the complaint and do the needful.
