Construction workers picket office of Asst. Labour Commissioner

Mangaluru, Aug 07, 2017:  Construction workers who are up in arms against the  several discrepancies in the functioning of the District Labour Department,  picketed the office of the Assistant Labour Commissioner of the district on August 7, Monday under the leadership of the Construction Workers’ Federation.

 

The protestors demanded that the several amenities meant for the workers  must be disbursed at the earliest.  The  Construction Workers’ Welfare Board  has flouted the orders of the Deputy Commissioner in   providing various amenities to the workers.

Prior to the protest, workers took out a procession from Ambedkar Circle upto the office of the  Labour Commissioner.
