Mangalore, May 03, 2014: Chikmagalur MLA and former minister CT Ravi has charged the Congress party of resorting to communal politics in the district.
Addressing press persons at the District BJP office on May 3, Saturday, he also blamed the District Minister Ramanatha Rai for the several untoward incidents in the district.
Alleging that the district was becoming a safe haven for terrorists, Ravi said one standing example was the revelation that the suspect in the Chennai blast case had boarded a train from Subrahmanya.
Commenting on the compensation of Rs 10 lakh announced to the family of Kabeer who was killed in ANF firing at Shringeri recently, CT Ravi questioned why the government was silent in the case of death of Swathi in the Chennai blast case. He also questioned the silence of the ministers with regard to the recent gang rape of a minor reported from Bantwal.
Alleging that the state government was in a state of coma, he said developmental activities have taken a back seat under the Congress regime.
Without mentioning the name of state minister Abhayachandra Jain who is in a controversy after allegedly threatening a journalist, CT Ravi said the government was in news more for controversies rather than developmental aspects.
He also charged District Minister Ramanatha Rai of running a Ravana Rajya in the state and added if such things continue then the BJP will be forced to take up a Ramanatha Rai Hatao campaign.
Capt Ganesh Karnik, MLC, Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP and other party leaders were present.
