Mangalore Today News Network

Shobha KarandlajePuttur, Jan 8, 2017: Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje has alleged that the Congress was resorting to commission business in the name of Yettinahole Project. She also accused the Congress government of going ahead with the implementation of the project without any scientific study.

Speaking to reporters at Charvaka,  Shobha urged the government to give a clear-cut picture to the people on the benefits of the project.

On the recent reports of State BJP Chief BS Yeddyurappa pledging support to the project, Shobha said Yeddyurappa had only said that  the people of drought hit Kolar should get water.  He had not said from where the water need to be supplied to Kolar, Shobha clarified.

Let the government utilise the Hemavathi river to supply water to Kolar and Chikkaballapur instead  of going in for Yettinahole Project which would hit hard the coastal districts, particularly Mangaluru which has already reeled under acute water scarcity last year, said Shobha.

On the Bengaluru mass molestation case, Shobha said  it has  become a black spot to the state. Alleging that there was a breakdown in the law and order situation in  the state Shobha said that the ministers have failed to solve the problems of the people.
