Congress planning to announce first list of candidates for Assembly polls within a month: Veerappa M

Mangaluru, March 5, 2023: All India Congress Committee (AICC) top brass and former chief minister Veerappa Moily said that the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) has finalized the list of Congress candidates for the elections. The screening committee will hold a meeting on March 7-8 to finalize the list, which will be sent to the Central Election Committee. The first list will be released within a month, he added.

Being the one of the AICC central election committee member, addressing a press conference in Mangaluru, Mr. Moily further said that, the people of Karnataka are fed up with the state government’s failure in governance and an atmosphere is being witnessed for the rise of the Congress government. The ground report also suggests that Congress will come to power in the upcoming Karnataka Assembly Elections, he claimed.

He further noted that many Congress workers are showing their willingness to contest in the elections and the stronger the competition for the post of a candidate, the stronger the party will be. He also stated that if Congress comes to power, all the scams during the current government’s tenure will be investigated.

Congress leaders Abhayachandra Jain, Ivan D’Souza, Shashidhar Hegde,Naveen D’Souza, Prakash Salian and others were present at the press meet.
