Udupi, Oct 15, 2015 : "The failure of the Police in arresting the culprits responsible for the murder of Bhajrangdal activist and flower vendor Prashanth Poojary in Moodbidri reveals that the accused are being shielded by the local minister as well as other politicians," alleged MP and former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa.
Speaking to reporters here on October 14, Wednesday, Yeddyurappa questioned why the police has failed to zero in on the culprits even when it has been said that Prashanth had revealed the names of four of his killers before breathing his last.
Alleging that there was anarchy in the state. he slammed the state government for withdrawing cases against KFD activists and pointed out that the BJP had tried to curb the organisation by banning it during its rule in the state.
Stating that more farmers have committed suicide in the state after the visit of Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, Yeddyurappa questioned what the Congress has done to stop farmers suicides.
He said the third leg of his Raitha Chaitanya Yatre would be held very soon.
Shobha Karandlaje, Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP was also present.
