Congress delegation led by Rai urges CM to compensate families of Perne tragedy victims

Bangalore, June 12, 2013: A delegation of elected representatives and Congress leaders from the district led by District in-charge Minister and State Minister for Forest, Ecology and Environment Ramanatha Rai has submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on June 11, Tuesday, seeking adequate compensation to the Perne LPG Tanker tragedy victims.

Ramanatha Rai requested the Chief Minister to adequately compensate the families from the CM’s relief fund and also ensure all government facilities to the affected families.

The Chief Minister who accepted the memorandum promised to look into the matter and ensure measures to rehabilitate as well as compensate the families of the victims.

Urban Development Minister Vinaykumar Sorake, Puttur MLA Shakuntala Shetty, Congress leaders Umanath Shetty, Sunder Shetty, BH Khader, GP member Tulajaksha Shetty and ZP member Prakash Shetty were also present.
