Mangalore, October 13: Padmanabha Kottary, the president of the district unit of BJP, said that the Congress and the JD(S) leaders are criticizing the BJP because they cannot tolerate the developments that are taking place in the state. He was addressing reporters at a press conference held at the BJP office on Oct 13, Wednesday.

He accused H. D. Kumaraswamy of calling the ministers and MLAs to the resort and bribing them not to support the government. These independent MLAs were hiding in various resorts with JD(S) activists, he alleged. Earlier, when the security tried to stop the independent MLAs from barging in, they pushed past security and broke the glass panes. They were heard abusing the ruling party leaders for letting them down. Later, Congress and JD (S) leaders congratulated these independent MLAs for fighting like this in assembly.

The governor’s report of 120 dissident MLAs was false because he had not considered the number of MLAs mentioned in legal documents, he said and added that the BJP opposes presidential rule in the state. He added that the CM will get the majority in the trust vote and will complete his five-year term working for the development of the state.

He also condemned the statement of some of the ministers that RSS activities were similar to SIMI activities.

He congratulated the gold winner women’s relay team led by Ashwini Chidananda of Kundapur for its spectacular performance in the Commonwealth Games.

Former president Monappa Bhandary, District Secretary Sanjeev Muthandoor, Nithin Kumar, Jagadish Adhikari, Umanath, District Secretary Sathish Kumpala,Shailaja K. T. Bhat, Shakila Kava, Rajeevi, and Rajgopal Rai were present for the press conference.
