Udupi, Oct 23, 2018: Kota Srinivas Poojary, Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, said on Monday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would win the by-elections to the parliamentary seats in Ballari and Shivamogga and the by-poll to the Jamkhandi Assembly seat. The party was giving a tough fight to the Janata Dal (Secular) in the by-poll to the Mandya parliamentary seat and Ramanagaram Assembly seat, he said.
Speaking to presspersons here, Mr. Poojary said that all the Ministers in the Congress-Janata Dal (Secular) coalition government were campaigning in the by-polls. There was no Minister available in the Vidhana Soudha to listen to the grievances of the people.
With the result, the entire administrative machinery in the State had come to a halt. Despite such massive efforts, the Congress and the Janata Dal(S) would lose their face in the by-polls to the three parliamentary seats and the two Assembly seats in the State, he said.
