Mangaluru, Dec 06, 2019: Confluence 2019 National Physiotherapy Conference organised by Laxmi Memorial College of Physiotherapy was inaugurated today morning at AJ auditorium Kuntikana Mangaluru.
Dr Abhilash PV, organising chairman of the conference, Public Relations Officer of Laxmi Memorial Education Trust and Trustee of Shree Mookambika Temple, Kollur welcomed the gathering.
Padmavibhushan Dr G Madhavan Nair was the keynote speaker and spoke about the challenges of sending human beings to space, in the context of India’s planned manned missions to space.
Dr S Sacchidanand, Vice Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, inaugurated the conference. He emphasised the importance of medical professionals updating their knowledge by participating in various academic programs.
Shri Kota Srinivas Poojary, District in charge minister of Dakshina Kannada, was chief guest of the function, and expressed his happiness on his district being an educational hub of India.
Inspector General of Police Karnataka, Shri M Chandrasekhar was a guest of honour,and addressed the gathering about the importance of striving for excellence in any undertaking.
Dr VP Gangadharan, renowned oncologist, spoke about the importance of physiotherapists in rehabilitating cancer survivors.
Dr Shiv Sharan Shetty, Syndicate member RGUHS and Dr A J Shetty, President of Laxmi Memorial Education Trust also addressed the delegates.
Dr Shivaraya Prabhu, former principal of Laxmi Memorial College of Physiotherapy was felicitated at the inaugural function.Shri Prashanth Shetty, Vice President, Laxmi Memorial Education Trust, Dr Prashanth Marla, Medical Director of AJ Hospital and Research Centre, Dr Harish S Krishna, Organising secretary, and Dr Sanjay Eapen Samuel, Convener of the conference were also present at the function.
