Colorful Independence Day celebrations on Alva’s Campus

Moodbidri, Aug 15: Smt Sundari Alva Campus of Vidyagiri in Moodubidri celebrated Independence Day in a colorful way on Aug 15. About 8000 students participated in the celebrations.

Dr. Ravishankar Rao, the reader of the English Department of Mangalore University, hoisted the national flag, which was followed by the singing of the national anthem. Reminding the students of the sacrifices of the freedom fighters, Mr. Rao urged the students to be kind to one another in spite of differences of opinion. He stressed the need to develop a positive mental attitude, to hone creative talents, and to live happily. He urged the students to be proud that they are Indians.

Alva’s College Band and Mother Theresa Brass Band added to the joy of the celebrations.
