City police arrest 10 North Indians for fraudulent transactions

Mangaluru, Sep 12,2017: Mangaluru city police have arrested 10 accused in a fraud case and seized Rs 30, 98, 760 worth properties including an Innova car, 20 cell phones, 2 laptops, an Ipad, a printer and cash of Rs 10, 00, 700. The arrested gang cheated two North Indians on the assurance of providing medical seat at a private medical college in Mangaluru city.


Mangaluru, Sep 12,2017: Mangaluru city police have arrested 10 accused in a fraud case and seized Rs 30, 98, 760 worth properties including an Innova car, 20 cell phones, 2 laptops, an Ipad, a printer and cash of Rs 10, 00, 700. The arrested gang cheated two North Indians on the assurance of providing medical seat at a private medical college in Mangaluru city.  The arrested have been identified as West Bengal residents Mahesh Kumar (54), Ajay Nayak (41), Lucknow based Saurab Guta (32), Jharkhand  natives, Vikaram (30) Sanjay Kumar Mahttur (26), Anoop Singh (35), Manish Kumar Shah (30), Bihar resident Amith Ranjan (25), Hyderabad residents Rajeev Kumar A (30) and Anil Thulki Ram (62).  The accused reportedly cheated New Delhi based Kamal Singh Raj Purohith and Rajasthan native Mahender on the assurance of medical seats to their children at a private medical college in Mangaluru. Some of the accused brought the duo to a hospital and showed fake ID cards stating that they are the concerned officials for admission process at the college.  Subsequently, the accused took two demand drafts of worth Rs 5, 40, 000 of each from the victims before fleeing from the scene.  The two North Indians on a suspicion lodged a complaint at Kadri police station on the incident. Kadri police succeeded to nab all culprits who cheated the duo. such cases are on the increase in the city and one should be aware and very cautious.
