City NGO facilitates US Government delegation meet with CM

Mangaluru, June 03, 2018: A media note received here informs that CHD Group of city fame, arranged for  a US State Department Legislative Fellows delegation to meet with . H D Kumaraswamy, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka.

The delegation was led by US State Department Legislative Fellow Alumini, Dr. Edmond Fernandes who is also CEO, CHD Group – a public health organization headquartered in Mangaluru.

The US delegation are on a brief visit to India and in Bengaluru, CHD Group along with Ramaiah Public Policy Center, Bengaluru held an India – US friendship dialogue to discuss and consider potential collaboration and partnership between the two countries facilitated by the two institutions.

A breakfast meeting was held with Dr. Alexander, IAS (Rtd), Former Chief Secretary to Government of Karnataka along with Rajendran Pillai, Social Activist. On the sidelines of the courtesy call to the Chief Minister, Dr. Edmond Fernandes, CEO, CHD Group and Dr. Jeevan R, Asst Director, CHD Group asked the Chief Minister to set up an expert advisory council under Section 17 of the DM Act 2005 and also a Nutrition task force to defeat malnutrition in the state and strengthen maternal and child health situation in Karnataka.
