Circular trench appearing in field mysteriously causes shock to local folks

Udupi, July 16, 2014:  A large trench well like in shape and size, has appeared  in an agricultural field that was recently plowed. It may be recalled that recently ground water table without reason surfaced  during the summer at Kelaparkala had caused fear.

 

Then, a long fissure in the earth’s surface at Manchikere a little distance away caused confusion among the residents.  Parkala and Herga on the outskirts of Udupi city limits have been witnessing such strange occurrences.

As per reports, the field was plowed with farm equipment on July 13, experienced people who visited the spot the next day were baffled  that the field had little water when it should have been overflowing. Careful examination indicated water was being flowing into round pit that had mysteriously formed in the field, so the flow of water was blocked using amake shift wall and is monitored now. The field is said to belong to a local  Jayaram Tantri. A few locals say that this could be an old abandoned  well or a spot where a tomb had been built decades ago.

 HoD in History, of a local College, Dr Jagadish Shetty, seemed to feel that this fissure had some similarity to a type of tomb he had observed in places like Hebri, Nejar, Havanje and so on. he added that a detailed study would be needed to come to some understanding regarding the strange phenomena.
