Udupi, Jan 28, 2016: The Christian community of Kanarady, Moodubelle with keen interest, organised a Yakshagana programme to promote communal harmony in the region.
The folk art of Tulunada Hindus has been a coner stone for harmony and has got a boost in the district when Muslims and Christians have come forward to be part of Hindu cultural events. The communal harmony that thrived in the past has come to the fore again in picturesque Moodubelle. It’s a testimony to peaceful living among people of different faiths, caste and creed.
This gesture received good response on social networking sites. The talking point of January is the Yakshagana organised by the Youth of Moodubelle Christians. The popular event was organized by Baptist Sequeira of Kanarady at a cost of Rs 2.5 lakh, with some help from friends. It was his wish to refresh childhood memories.
Yakshagana is the folk art of coastal Karnataka.Most of them love to watch it.But this is a desire of friends to cherish the childhood memories.
