Bishop of Mangalore Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza along with Fr J B Crasta, parish priest conducted a Eucharistic Mass at Rosario Cathedral as the concelebrants.

In his address, Bishop urged Christians to follow the path of Jesus Christ and the celebration with Christmas trees, stars, carols and kuswars make the Christmas meaningfully.

He also said that Jesus conveyed the message of lover and brotherhood and it is our duty to live together as god’s children. Everyone must inculcate the message of Christ in our day to day life and eradicate discrimination between the rich and the poor.

Bishop also wished merry and peaceful Christmas to everyone.

The festive spirit is in the air.  The Christmas Eve mass was held in Churches in Mangalore on the evening of December 24. The festive mass and singing of Carols ushered in the spirit of Christmas as joy filled the air. All the churches are decorated with festive lightings, while the Cribs set up at the Church premises illustrate the birth of Jesus Christ, the savior.

Hundreds of people of the respective parishes attended the Christmas eve mass at Milagres Church, Rosario, St Sebastian Church, Bendore and  Cordel Church, Kulshekhar among a host of other churches.

If the Christmas eve mass used to begin at 11 pm till midnight in the past, in the recent years it begins late evening and ends by 10 pm in most of the churches, to ensure safety of the devotees returning home.
