Mangaluru, July 28,2016: It is reported that Labour Department officials rescued a minor boy working at a canteen on K S Rao Road here on July 27,Wednesday. The boy has been handed over to the Child Welfare Committee for rehabilitation.
The officials have filed a case against Sridevi canteen owner Prakash B N Dharanappa Gowda under the provisions of Section 3 of Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) 1986.
Employing child labour is an offence punishable with one year of imprisonment and a fine or Rs 20,000. People can pass on information on child labour to 0824-2433131, 2437479, 2435343 or childline 1098.
