Mangalore, July 03, 2014: Chaos prevailed at Bendore near the St Agnes College in the city on July 3, Thursday morning, when two accidents took place in a span of a few minutes leaving one person injured. Members of the general public started blaming the police department and its recently introduced one-way rule for the two accidents.
As part of the recent changes, the road from St Agnes to Bendorewell Circle has been made one-way. Since Monday vehicles have been using both the lanes on this road. However as there is no divider at the point where there is a road deviating to the right, vehicles take a turn here all of a sudden.
That is what happened on Thursday, when a Renault Duster car heading towards Bendorewell Circle took a turn here and a Maruti 800 car crashed against it leaving both the vehicles damaged.
Soon after, a motorbike also took a right turn only to be hit by a KSRTC bus. The bike rider Mangal Kumar (54), a telecom employee, was injured and rushed to Colaco Hospital.
The accidents blocked traffic for over an hour and public entered into an altercation with the police personnel blaming the department for the accidents.
