Mangaluru, Mar 01, 2021: Two more CCB cops have been suspended in connection with the case of sale of a luxury car seized from the accused in a cheating case. With this the total number of cops suspended has risen to four.
On February 27, State DGP Praveen Sood had issued an order suspending Ramakrishna, Inspector in Narcotics and Economic Offences Police Station and Kabbal Raj who was serving as DCRB SI in Chikkamagaluru.
In another development, acting upon the orders, City Police Commissioner has suspended CCB Head constable Ashith D’Souza and Raja in connection with the case.
The names of the accused cops were mentioned in the interim report filed by DCP Vinay Gaonkar who had led an internal investigation into the case.
The CID has issued notice to all the four suspended cops and broker Divyadarshan to appear for enquiry at the CID office in Bengaluru.
Meanwhile CID SP Rohini Katoch who is leading the investigation team in this case is expected to arrive in Mangaluru today. Later, the probe report will be submitted to the senior officials.
