Mangalore, Feb 27,2014: Pascal Pinto, President of Gulf NRI Forum of Kuwait has said that passengers travelling to Kuwait along with medicines have to be cautious enough and must carry the prescriptions of doctors.
Speaking to reporters here on February 26, Wednesday, he said several drugs which are banned in foreign nations are available in the Indian market and many in Kuwait procure the medicines from Mangalore with the help of their acquaintances. Many who leave for Kuwait from Mangalore or elsewhere are pressurised to get these medicines and then land themselves in trouble in Kuwait, he explained.
If taking medicines is inevitable, then the persons concerned should also carry prescriptions. In case the person does not have relevant document, then he may have to face punishment, he said.
He also suggested people travelling abroad on job assignments to verify their visas and other documents before travelling as many are languishing behind bars in Kuwait after falling prey to the cheating of some agents. The visa and other documents should be verified at the respective embassies, he said.
