Car found burnt with 3 charred bodies in Tumakuru: Cops detain 6 suspects

Belthangady, Mar 23, 2024: Police have detained six persons including the main suspect in the case of the finding of charred bodies of three men from Belthangady in a car.

The main suspect has been identified as Swamy from Tumakuru. On March 22, Friday, the charred bodies of Sahul (45) from Nada village, Imtiyaz (34) from Shirlalu and Isac (56) from Maddadka were traced at Tumakuru.

The three had been to Tumakuru 11 days ago in connection with some business related work. Preliminary investigation revealed that they fell victim to a fake gold racket. It is said the accused had lured the three stating they would sell gold which they found in their land at low price and then killed them by setting afire to their car after tying them down.

Police are questioning the accused for further details.
