Mangaluru, Sep 25, 2017: The International Congress of Maritime Arbitrators is held biannually. About 350 to 400 delegates across the globe participate in the Congress to update themselves on the latest trends of International Maritime Arbitration. The twentieth Congress is being held at Copenhagen in Denmark from 24th September to 29th September 2017.

CAPT J P MENE.Out of the 110 papers that have been selected for presentation, only two are from India. On 26th September 2017, Capt John Prasad Menezes former President of KCCI will be Speaking on ‘Carriage of Grain Cargo and Fumigation- Techno Legal Issue in Arbitration’. The paper provides an insight to the new ‘BIMCO Cargo Fumigation’ Clause of Sept 2015, introduced in the Industry recently. Incidentally Baltic International Maritime Organization (BIMCO) is headquartered at Copenhagen. KCCI regularly interacts with BIMCO and provides inputs to BIMCO calendar, Port Charter Party Holidays and local maritime issues of interest at the International level.
