Cab drivers picket Ola Mela; burn handouts

Mangaluru, Jan 25, 2018: Ola cab drivers picketed the Mela organised by the Ola company at its office at Lalbagh on January 25, Thursday alleging that the company was victimising unemployed youth after luring them.

The protestors pointed out that the existing Ola operators were suffering owing to lack of trips and are unable to repay their bank loans. They even complained that the Mela was just a ploy to sell cars after giving false assurances to unemployed youth.

The protest was held under the aegis of DK District Online Taxi Drivers and Operators Association. The protestors also burnt the banners and handouts of the Mela.

Honorary President of the Association B K Imtiyaz who is also the District President of DYFI, Association President Jagaraj Rai, Subhash Vajid, Kamalaksha and many other Ola cab drivers took part in the protest.
