The seminar will be held at Bishop Jattanna Auditorium of the Karnataka Theological College (KTC), KACES Campus on October 8 and 9.
CSI - moderator Most Rev Dr G Dyvasirvadam would inaugurate the programme at 9.30 am. Central University of Karnataka vice-chancellor Prof H M Maheshwaraiah will be the chief guest.
Bicentenary celebrations of Basel Mission Organising Committee Chairman and CSI-KSD Bishop Rev Mohan Manoraj will preside over the programme. Sessions on various topics would be held. In spite of decrease in foreign fund, the Basel Mission has not been commercialised and continued as a charity.
Though there are a few legal hurdles to implement new programmes, we have continued all the old programmes. Hundreds of research articles have come through Basel Mission and researchers can always utilise the rich resources here. The Mission has been also promoting local languages like Kannada and Tulu as it has done for decades and which has benefitted not only people but the languages in a great measure.
