Mangaluru, July 10, 2016: Senior Congress leader B Janardhana Poojary has launched a tirade against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah over the DySP M K Ganapathi suicide case and accused the CM of trying to shield state minister KJ George whose name the DySP has reportedly mentioned in his death note.
Speaking to reporters here on July 9, Saturday, Poojary described Ganapathy as the son of Kodagu and charged CM of trying to hush up facts behind the case.
Pointing out that the DySP Ganapathi prior to ending his life, had in an interview accused two senior police officials as well as George of harassing him, Poojary questioned why an FIR has not been lodged against them. "Who is pressurising the Chief Minister against filing an FIR against the three for abetting the suicide of the officer?" questioned Poojary.
"Normally people who are dying do not lie and even the Supreme Court has said that the Dying Declaration should be accepted. But CM Siddaramaiah seems to be very much interested in shielding George. The CM’s action is deterrent to the Congress," said Poojary.
