CM’s plaint against Poojary; MLC unaware

Mangaluru, Sep 11, 2016: Reports state that  MLC Ivan D’Souza on Sept 10, Saturday claimed ignorance on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah complaining to  All India Congress Committee (AICC), General Secretary and Karnataka in-charge Digvijay Singh against senior Congress leader B Janardhan Poojary.  Reacting to a particular question, MLC D’Souza, who is Chief Whip of the State Government in Legislative Council, said, "I am not in the know of any such complaint."

When asked about Singh’s direction to KPCC, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee to prepare a list of probables for the general elections scheduled to be held in 2018, MLC D’Souza said, "When general elections seen,  the party starts preparing for  polls."

To another question on whether he too is an aspirant, as he had emerged a strong contender for ticket from Mangaluru South Assembly constituency in the previous polls, D’Souza said, "It’s too early to say that."

When the media sought to know whether he will at least complete his tenure of six years in the Legislative Council, without falling to the lure of getting an Assembly ticket, the Chief Whip again refused to comment.
