CM has ordered probe into Parashurama Theme Park row: MLC Manjunath Bhandary

Udupi, Nov 21, 2023: MLC Manjunath Bhandari has informed that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has ordered an investigation through the Chief Secretary of the Tourism Department, into the alleged irregularities in the construction of Parashurama Theme Park in Karkala.

 

Speaking to reporters here Bhandary said there is a confusion as to whether the Theme park is a religious place or a tourist place. “The statue which was unveiled by the former CM is missing. The CM and Deputy CM have taken cognizance of this and have directed to submit a report,” he said.

“The portion of the statue above the waist is missing, officials say the same has been sent for design change. This is a Gomala land and the government had in the past ordered against constructing the park,” he said.

Former minister Vinaykumar Sorake who also spoke, said the statue was installed in a haste by the previous government with an eye on election.
