Udupi, Feb 1, 2015 : State Home Minister KJ George has strongly defended Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the Arkavathi denotification issue, by stating that the CM has not denotified even an inch of land.
Speaking to reporters here on January 31, Saturday upon his arrival here to participate in the centenary fete of Our Lady Health Church, Shirva, the Home Minister claimed that the denotifications were actually done during the rule of the erstwhile BJP government. What CM Siddaramaiah has done is remodifications of the denotified land in accordance to the Supreme court ruling, George further stated.
On the reports that 12 MLAs were against the CM, George blamed the media for such reports creating rift and claimed that the Party was united and there was no rift as such.
He also requested the elected representatives not to issue irresponsible statements on terror issues.
He further stated that the government was taking all possible measures to tackle the terror menace and also appreciated the police for swift action. “It is not proper to consider or label Bhatkal as a terror hub, the minister said adding people of Bhatkal are known for communal harmony.
