Mangaluru, Dec 31, 2023: On Saturday, Mahammad Rameez, also known as Lemon Tea Rameez, 33, residing in Ullal, was apprehended by CCB police for purportedly trying to sell MDMA in preparation for New Year’s festivities. City Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal stated that Rameez faced charges related to the attempted sale of MDMA to both college students and the general public in Ullal during New Year celebrations.
Based on credible information, law enforcement carried out a raid in the vicinity of the Fiza Mall ground at Deralakatta, resulting in the confiscation of 100g of MDMA valued at around Rs 5 lakh. The accused had reportedly acquired the MDMA from Bengaluru with the intention of distributing it during the upcoming New Year celebrations in Ullal.
In addition to the drug seizure, the police also impounded two mobile phones and a digital weighing machine. Notably, Rameez has a criminal history that includes charges of dacoity, conspiracy to commit dacoity, and attempted murder cases filed at Ullal police station, along with a dacoity case at Konaje police station.
