Mangaluru, Feb 05, 2015: The prime accused in the case of murder of BJP worker and garage owner Keshava Shetty has been arrested by the CCB Police on February 4, Wednesday. The police team led by Inspector Valentine D’Souza apprehended the accused named Satish alias Sachu alias Satish Soorinje (30) of Katipalla. He is said to be an accomplice of notorious underworld don Vicky Shetty and was arrested near the Talapady bus stop.
Thirty-five year old Keshava Shetty was hacked to death at Janathabettu, Soorinje near Kinnigoli on January 6 morning.
Police have so far arrested five persons namely Shobhi alias Shobharaj, Yuvaraj alias Appu, Krishna, Bharath and Lithesh Shetty in connection with the incident.
Police said Satish was wanted in connection with several cases including a case of attempt on the life of a youth at Shibaroor in 2010, murder of Manikantha of Suratkal in 2012 and also in the case of killing of Bharatesh apart from several threatening cases.
He is also said to be wanted in the shoot-out reported near Ballalbagh targeted at Vijayendra Bhat, a businessman, reportedly at the behest of Vicky Shetty. The CCB cops have handed over Satish to the Suratkal Police and investigations are underway.
