CCB Police arrests man with fake currency notes

Mangaluru, Dec 17, 2023: The CCB police have arrested a suspect who was attempting to circulate counterfeit currency notes. The arrest took place on December 17 near Kankanady in the city as the CCB police were conducting an operation to curb the circulation of fake currency.

The apprehended suspect has been identified as Prashvit (25), a resident of Manjeshwar. He was found in possession of approximately 8,000 counterfeit notes with face values of 500, 200, and 100 rupees, totaling around 4,250 rupees. The CCB police had received credible information about his attempts to circulate these fake notes.

Prashvit has been charged with attempting to circulate counterfeit currency, and during the arrest, the police also seized three notes of 500 rupees, two notes of 200 rupees, three notes of 100 rupees, and a mobile phone.
