Mangaluru, Jan 30, 2020:  State Of Art CAD-CAM Clinic was inaugurated by Sri N Vinaya Hegde, Chancellor, Nitte (Deemed to be university) and the chief guest for the function was Prof (Dr) Satheesh Kumar Bhandary.

 

 

 

 

 

The welcome address was delivered by Prof (Dr) Chethan Hegde, head of the Department of Prosthodontics, ABSMIDS. The other dignitaries present were Prof ( Dr ) Porus Turner ,Prof (Dr ) U s Krishna Nayak ,Dean A B SHETTY MEMORIAL INSTITUTE OF DENTAL SCIENCES, Prof (Dr) Mithra N Hegde Vice Principal, ABSMIDS and Dr Manoj Shetty, Head of the Department of Implantology.

Prof (Dr) U S Krishna Nayak addressed the gathering expressing his happiness towards the advanced facilities attained by the department of Prosthodontics and wished them success. Prof (Dr) Satheesh Kumar Bhandary the chief guest of the day congratulated Prof (Dr) N Sridhar Shetty, for his vision and initiating one day denture camps and for conducting them in rural areas to help the rural population. Prof (Dr) Porus Turner expressed his view on the latest developments and the facilities acquired by the department of Prosthodontics and stressing on the importance of learning and keeping oneself updated about the recent trends.

Sri N Vinaya Hegde presided over the function. He congratulated the department for the state of art CAD CAM clinic. He emphasised students to learn the technique to enhance quality of treatment to be rendered by them.

Dr Shilpa Dandekeri, Reader, Department of Prosthodontics Delivered the Vote of Thanks. Conventional treatment procedure for crown and bridge to replace missing teeth requires multiple visits to the dental clinic. With the advent of CAD-CAM and introduction of PRIMESCAN it is now possible to make crown in a single visit. The CAD-CAM technology allows a more precise treatment planning and prosthetic design while reducing the laboratory time. It aids in the manufacture of crowns and bridges by creating a 2 Dimensional, 3 Dimensional models and their materialization by numerous controlled machines.
