Mangalore, July 17, 2013 : City, service and express buses are plying as usual on the roads of undivided DK district on July 17 after a strike call given by the Bus Employees Association was called off following the intervention of the Deputy Commissioner N Prakash on July 16, Tuesday.
The DC requested the bus employees union to call off the strike scheduled for Wednesday considering the inconvenience it will cause to the general public. The representatives of the bus employees’ union representatives later declared that they will call off the strike. RTO Mallikarjun, Karmika Parishat Chief Ivan D’Souza and others were present.
Meanwhile, a meeting has been convened at the DC office on July 17 between bus operators and staff to discuss the various demands of the employees.
